Taline Gabriel’s earthy wholesome Instagram account has probably been a fixture of your feed for years. Her almost 500k followers have obviously resonated with her recipes, aesthetic and wholehearted living. We asked her about social media trends and what is next for her and her fans.
Cocobella: You know a thing or two about growing an audience on Instagram. In these changing times, where do you see your social media heading?
Taline: I think now more than ever, people want to relate in a truthful and authentic way and feel connected. Less perfection or unrealistic ideals, and more truth. I am committed to keeping it as real as I can online, documenting my life, my recipes, and my personal processes, even when it’s all a mess – with a view to help others on their journey to wholehearted living and holistic health.
Cocobella: Can you give us one of your tips for growing a loyal social media following?
Taline: It’s important to know what it is you are hoping to achieve on the platform and to organise your activity around your main purpose. Post frequently, with focus on quality of content. Look to add value to your audience and stay consistent. Be creative in your strategy and honest in your interactions. If you love what you do and are passionate about your message, you can grow a loyal following who value your work and mission.
Cocobella: What has been inspiring your creativity lately?
Taline: Everyday life. Nature always inspires me – the ocean, sunset, sunrise. Natural colours in food, living a sustainable lifestyle, and our innate potential for healing and growth – they continue to inspire me.
Cocobella: What does a post lock-down world look like to you ideally?
Taline: A slower paced life, with more and more of us living intentionally and mindfully. Being conscious of our choices, of our footprint, our consumption and our life intentions. A renewed collective mindset will create more peace in the world, less struggle and a realignment to our truth, and to what really matters.
Cocobella: And what is one thing you will do as soon as it is allowed?
Taline: Go out for dinner! I love cooking, but I need a break from the kitchen so I’m looking forward to a nourishing meal out. Also, big hugs and face-to-face interaction with family and friends.
