Cocobella Ambassador Bella’s Instagram feed (@eatlovecherish) is bright, happy and totally inspirational. We just love scrolling through her images of tasty treats, nutritional advice (she’s a ballerina, she knows how to stick to her goals and stay motivated) and special moments socialising with friends. Bella just returned home from a trip to Germany and we are so excited to welcome her back to Team Cocobella.
We chatted to Bella about our five favourite images from her feed, check it out below!
Bananas—what would we do without them! What are your favourite foods to refuel your body with after a performance or training session and why?
This photo was taken in my performance tutu before I went on to perform a classical variation solo from ‘La Bayadere’.
As a ballerina, bananas are the perfect snack, full of good sugars to give me energy before I go on stage. Other great snack options that promote long-lasting energy are homemade bliss balls, nut mixes and rice cakes with avocado!
There is nothing quite like fresh blooms to brighten a day! What little ways do you like treat yourself? Do you have any self-care advice you’d like to share?
This photo was taken when I was exploring outdoor markets in Germany, filled with blooms, fresh fruit and traditional German bread. I have just arrived home in Australia after spending some time in Europe to pursue my dreams in Ballet.
Given how hard I train and how busy I can be; self-care is really important. It’s all about making the time to do things that I enjoy. Activities like a long bath, writing in my journal and baking healthy treats bring me much joy and helps me relax after a long day.
Cafes = brunch dreams! What is your favourite spot to hang out in your hometown of Brisbane? Any menu favourites?
Goodness Gracious Café is one of my favourite local brunch spots in Brisbane.
I would almost classify brunching as a personal hobby—it’s my most preferred meal of the day. I also often visit Miss Bliss Treats and Kiss the Berry. I usually order an Açai Bowl but when I’m feeling adventurous I go for Chai spiced Waffles and a matcha latte.
Drool—this is such a great photo! How do you capture the perfect snap of your plant-based creations? A what are your all-time favourite ingredients?
All my food snaps are taken just before I eat them on my iPhone 6. I usually aim for a white wall or plant-filled background with some nice lighting. My neighbours probably think I’m insane!
There is nothing I love more than trying new smoothie flavour combinations. I like to create super thick smoothies, so they can be eaten with a spoon. To create my favourite smoothie—a breakfast variety—simply blend the following:
- 2 frozen bananas
- 2 medjool dates
- 1 cup Cocobella Straight Up coconut water
- Handful spinach
- Handful mixed berries
- 2 tbsp. rolled oats
- 1 tsp. chia seeds
- 1 tsp. maca powder
Such a happy snap of you Bella! Please share your top 5 tips for staying motivated and healthy all year around.
Thank you! This is me enjoying some amazing quinoa falafels at Miss Bliss Treats in Brisbane.
I try to keep ‘being healthy’ as simple as possible. I do my best to eat whole plant foods with a treat here and there and move my body every day. My top 5 tips are:
- Feel inspired and creative in the kitchen. Try new things and explore with fresh healthy ingredients.
- Make exercise fun. I love dance, going to the beach, swimming and hiking with friends and family. When physical activity is enjoyable, it doesn’t feel like a chore.
- Be kind to yourself! It’s ok to mess up sometimes because you can start again tomorrow.
- Get outdoors. Being in nature always assists me in finding balance and improving my mood.
- Look outwards. There are so many inspirational people out there! I am constantly motivated by other bloggers, some of my favourites are: @elsas_wholesomelife, @tessbegg, @bonnyrebecca and @annietarasova.
